Gruenderfonds exits Textunes

High-Tech Gründerfonds, a Germany-based early-stage investment firm backed by the government and six local corporations, has sold its shares in electronic books provider Textunes for an undisclosed amount.

Germany-based media group Thalia is acquiring Textunes as part of its "Smart Reading Strategy".

Simon Seeger, Michael Oesterreich and Volker Oppmann as well as local company TheCo.de founded Textunes in 2009 before High-Tech Gründerfonds subsequently invested.

Romy Schnelle, investment manager at High-Tech Gründerfonds, said: "For High-Tech Gründerfonds this results in a good return in the double-digit range."
