US-based marketing analytics company MomentFeed secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Rockfish Brand Ventures, the corporate venturing division of the US-based digital marketing consultancy Rockfish on Tuesday.
The financing comes just two months after MomentFeed raised $1.2m in seed capital from investment firms MI Ventures and DFJ JAIC, venture capital firm DFJ Frontier, and a selection of angel investors.
MomentFeed is the second start-up to get financing from Rockfish Brand Ventures since the fund was launched in March. Mobile advertising platform TapMe raised $1.4m in May with Rockfish among the investors.
Kenny Tomlin, chief executive of Rockfish, said: "Our investment in MomentFeed is what Rockfish Brand Ventures is all about. One of our core strengths is using digital to transform the retail experience, so finding a start-up that fits in that niche is a perfect match. We have seen the emergence of location-based services and recognize the need for a platform that can help brands navigate all the new data that’s now available."
MomentFeed’s platform allows client businesses to track their social network-oriented marketing by location, and is planning to work alongside Rockfish in enabling companies to turn location-based data into more detailed marketing analysis.
