Hilton Romanski, formerly senior vice-president and chief strategy officer at US-based computer network equipment supplier Cisco, has joined Siris Capital’s investment team.
US-based private equity firm Siris Capital hired Romanski as a partner and senior managing director and invests mainly in companies with a data, telecommunications and technology focus.
With headquarters in New York, Siris has also tasked Romanski with setting up an office in Silicon Valley.
Romanski said: “I am thrilled to be joining Siris at this exciting time, as the firm extends its presence to the West Coast. I believe Siris has a differentiated strategy for value creation and I look forward to working with the firm to capture the next generation of opportunities arising from digital and technology transformation.”
Romanski, who was nominated twice to GCV’s Powerlist in 2012 and 2014, had joined Cisco in 2000. Prior to his replacement by Rob Salvagno, he had been conducting Cisco’s $2bn venture capital and private equity investment activities in technology-enabled companies for eight years.
