Carey Lai has joined Intel Capital as an investment director, according to a statement put out Monday last week. Lai will focus on the Internet & Digital Media Investments section of Intel Capital’s activities.
Lai was most recently a vice president at Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), focused on later-stage investments. During his tenure at IVP Lai was involved with firms including motorcycle parts website MotoSport.com, software company Synchronoss and sales management firm ConnectAndSell.
Carey previously led Intel Capital’s investment in software firm SweetLabs last month. Prior to his stint at IVP, Lai worked at eBay, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Banc of America Securities.
