China-based investment technology developer Value Simplex raised RMB100m ($14.5m) in a series A round led by consumer electronics producer Xiaomi, according to China Money Network.
Investment firms Harvest Partners and Beijing Qingquanshi Investment Center also contributed to the round.
Founded in 2017, Value Simplex provides a platform which cultivates external data and uses machine learning to help hedge fund managers, institutional investors and individuals make investment decisions.
The company’s technology is used by Orient Securities Asset Management Company, Blackrock, Guosheng Securities and Boston Consulting Group, according to its website.
With the series B funding, Value Simplex plans to hire additional staff, invest in research and development and collaborate with external data providers.
In March 2018, the company raised $1.6m from Beijing Qingquanshi Investment Center.
