Nokia Growth Partners, the corporate venturing unit belonging to telecom conglomerate Nokia, invested an undisclosed amount in India-based telecommunications networking services company Innovis Telecom Services yesterday.
Innovis provides end-to-end services covering the building of networks for wireless and broadband telecommunications networks. Although Innovis currently has a presence in several African and Asian countries, it plans to invest the capital in expanding its growth across the aforementioned continents.
Upal Basu, managing director of Nokia Growth Partners, said: "Building quality networks to support the increasing volume of data driven services is becoming important to all industry players. We believe Innovis is well positioned to support operators and equipment vendors in scaling their 3G and LTE networks in a high quality way."
Basu continued: "We also see great opportunity for the operational model pioneered in India expanding in other markets. Innovis has deep domain expertise, is well regarded in the industry, and is already offering a range of advanced consulting and advisory services in South East Asia and Africa."
