M12, the corporate venturing division of software producer Microsoft, has taken part in a $25m funding round for RapidAPI, a US-based marketplace for application programming interfaces (APIs), Axios has reported citing a regulatory filing.
Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz also participated in the funding round.
RapidAPI runs a marketplace for developers to find, test and manage publicly available APIs. An API is a piece of software that allows programmers to integrate the functionality of a third-party product, such as an operating system, into their application.
Andreessen Horowitz previously led a $9m series A round for RapidAPI in March 2018, with participation from SV Angel, Green Bay Capital and private investor Tony Jamous.
In 2016, Andreessen Horowitz had also led a $3.5m seed round that included FundersClub, SV Angel, Green Bay Advisors and 500 Startups.
