US-based credit card provider American Express has made its second senior hire for its $100m corporate venturing unit with Rohit Bodas (pictured) joining as vice-president of the Enterprise Growth Group’s Silicon Valley office.
Bodas had previously spent three years as director of strategic investments at US-based insurer Hartford’s corporate venturing and innovation unit.
Bodas said: "After three great years with Hartford Ventures, I am excited to join Amex Ventures, the newly formed VC [venture capital] group for American Express. I will be based in Palo Alto [California] and will be relocating to the [San Francisco] bay area in a few weeks."
Prior to joining Hartford, he had worked at phone maker Motorola for more than nine years in various roles including corporate venturing, business development and research and development. As an associate at Motorola Ventures, Bodas worked with Harshul Sanghi, who left last year to head up Amex Ventures.
