Agnihotri moves away from Maumee Ventures

Rashmi Agnihotri, formerly president of Maumee Ventures, the strategic investment arm of agribusiness The Andersons, departed the unit in December 2018.

Agnihotri told Global Corporate Venturing that John Kraus, director of investor relations at The Andersons, had succeeded her as president.

At Maumee Ventures, Agnihotri identified and conducted deals, managing a portfolio of agricultural technology companies. She was involved in the series A round for microbial inoculant technology developer 3Bar Biologics in August 2017 and the series B for farming data platform developer Agrible the following month.

Prior to joining Maumee Ventures in December 2016, Agnihotri had spent two decades at The Andersons, having been treasurer and director of corporate strategy for 10 years each.

While Agnihotri served as president of Maumee Ventures she was concurrently vice-president of strategy and corporate development at its parent, where she formulated enterprise strategy and carried out merger and acquisition deals.

Regarding her next steps, Agnihotri told GCV: “I am now inclined to explore ways to connect my US strategy, agriculture and corporate venture experience with the burgeoning agtech opportunities in India where it seems to have really taken off, and possibly in Africa.”
