Healthcare services provider CPSI has agreed to acquire US-based healthcare management software publisher Get Real Health for at least $11m, enabling telecommunications firm Telus to exit.
The price is subject to certain adjustments surrounding the transaction’s closure, which is expected to take place in Q2 2019. Get Real Health’s shareholders could bank an additional $14m from the deal should the company meet earnings targets for 2019.
Founded in 2001, Get Real provides software that helps doctors and patients manage information associated with their care. Get Real offers a platform for chronic care management called Ellie, patient engagement tool InstantPHR, electronic health information aggregation utility CHBase and patient record passport service Lydia.
CPSI’s purchase will enable it to solidify its position in the community healthcare segment with the addition of Get Real’s services to its existing range, which includes products for acute and post-acute patient care, and consulting and IT services. Get Real will benefit from CPSI’s resources to scale in existing and new markets.
Get Real Health received an undisclosed amount of capital from Telus Ventures, the corporate investment arm of Telus, in 2013. The pair have since collaborated to distribute products including InstantPHR through the corporate’s electronic health record subsidiary, Telus Health.
