Fight My Monster, a UK-based developer of an online trading card game for young boys, completed a $2.1m seed financing round on 16th February from backers including eVenture Capital Partners, a VC firm counting ecommerce company the Otto Group as its anchor investor.
The round was led by venture capital partnership Greycroft Partners, with participation from several US-based angel investors.
Fight My Monster had built up a base of almost a million players prior to the completion of the seed round, and is now seeking to expand the game’s reach beyond the UK to the rest of the world.

Not only have they built a game which has taken the UK by storm on the sheer strength of product design and execution but they’ve also done it on a shoestring budget. We’re excited about growing the brand both domestically and internationally now that the company has closed its first round of funding."
