Emilio to head Bertelsmann Brazil Investments

Daulins Emilio, formerly Brazil-based director of investments at mass media group Bertelsmann, has become managing director of Bertelsmann Brazil Investments (BBI) and head of Bertelsmann Brazil’s Corporate Centre.

The appointment came as the unit’s former managing director Marc Puškarić left to join Bertelsmann’s RTL Croatia division as chief executive.

Emilio first joined the corporate as manager of strategy and mergers and acquisitions in 2012 as Bertelsmann inaugurated the Corporate Centre and BBI in the Brazilian city of São Paulo to focus on education and digital media.

Emilio took up a role as director of business development role in late 2012 before ascending to director of investments two and a half years later, having also joined the supervisory boards of its subsidiaries – corporate training provider Afferolab and book publisher Companhia das Letras.

His role as director of investments involved Emilio conducting BBI’s strategic planning and education deals, such as partnering private equity and venture capital firm Crescera Investimentos.

Emilio will report to Shobhna Mohn, executive vice-president of growth regions strategy and Bertelsmann Investments. She said: “I am very pleased that Daulins Emilio, an experienced colleague from within the group, will now be leading the Brazilian Corporate Centre and BBI.

“With this nomination, we can ensure continuity of work for our partners and investments in Brazil. Together, we will continue to implement our local strategy, focusing on education and supporting other Bertelsmann divisions in their growth efforts in the country.”
