China-based medical software provider Huimei Technology closed a $30m series C round backed by pharmaceutical firm WuXi AppTec and Huimei Capital, the investment arm of healthcare services provider Huimei Healthcare, today.
Venture capital firm Qiming Venture Partners led the round. Huimei Healthcare, which was jointly founded by non-profit medical research organisation Mayo Clinic and hedge fund manager Hillhouse Capital, helped launch Huimei Technology in 2015.
Huimei Technology has created a software suite under the Dr Mayson brand that relies on big data analytics to aid clinical diagnoses and treatments in medical centres.
Among its other features, Dr Mayson includes a natural language processing-driven tool for pulling up information from patient health records, as well as a system that can monitor a care provider’s performance in treating specific diseases.
Huimei Technology intends to put the series C proceeds into product development, with a view to improving the standard of its clients’ medical services. It does not appear to have announced details of its earlier funding.
