Pitch presents $30m series B round

Pitch, a Germany-based visual presentation software provider that counts messaging platform developer Slack as an investor, raised $30m on Tuesday in a series B round led by venture capital firm Thrive Capital.

The round included undisclosed existing backers in addition to Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, the co-founders of social media app Instagram, and Rahul Vohra, the co-founder and chief executive of email platform developer Superhuman.

Founded in 2018, Pitch has developed collaborative presentation-development software that utilises tools like smart formatting and custom templates.

The product is available in beta and being tested by companies including app integration software provider Notion and prototyping technology developer Framer.

Christian Reber, co-founder and chief executive of Pitch, told VentureBeat: “We have a long-term roadmap and a big vision for our integrations platform. Our ultimate goal is to potentially integrate with all of the tools teams already use and pull in data from everywhere.

“We will launch a handful of key integrations and continue to add more over time. We are focused on connecting with the tools modern teams use most, and we hope to learn a lot during the beta period about what tools are important to our users.”

Pitch has now raised more than $52m in total, including $19m in an October 2018 series A round co-led by VC firms Index Ventures and BlueYard Capital that included Slack’s corporate venturing arm, Slack Fund, as well as several angel investors including Framer CEO Koen Bok.

BlueYard Capital had previously supplied approximately $3.7m in seed funding for the company in April the same year.
