Cooliris, an internet browser software company for sharing photos and video, which was backed by Deutsche Telekom’s corporate venturing unit T-Venture last year, has sold advertising technology company Adjitsu, a company it created, to Amobee.
AdJitsu is a standalone business unit created by Cooliris in 2011.AdJitsu is backed by Cooliris, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, DAG Ventures, The Westly Group, and Deutsche Telekom’s T-Venture.
Last year Cooliris raised $9.6m in its series C round from a consortium including Germany-based phone operator Deutsche Telekom’s T-Venture corporate venturing unit.
Venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round, which included peers DAG Ventures and Westly Group. Cooliris previously raised about $20m, according to data provider Crunchbase.
T-Venture, which invests on behalf of Germany’s national phone operator Deutsche Telekom, invested in Cooliris in July last year from its Connected Life and Work Fund as part of Cooliris’ $15m series B round that included venture capital firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, DAG Ventures and Westly Group.
Amobee was acquired by Singapore-based telecoms company SingTel this year for for $321m.. It had corporate venturing backing from corporates Telefónica, Vodafone, Motorola and Cisco. It is one of the candidates for our exit of the year, at our second annual awards on Monday.
