Salesforce Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of cloud enterprise software provider Salesforce, yesterday launched the $50m Consultant Trailblazer Fund to invest in cloud consulting companies.
Apart from providing capital, the Consultant Trailblazer Fund will support companies in quickly implementing Salesforce technologies to scale their business. The corporate hopes to build an ecosystem of 250,000 certified consultants by 2022.
The vehicle builds on the $50m SI Trailblazer Fund, which had the same sector focus and was launched in 2017. The SI Trailblazer Fund has been fully committed and its portfolio includes companies such as US-based quote-to-cash implementation provider Simplus.
John Somorjai, executive vice-president of corporate development and Salesforce Ventures, said: “Salesforce Ventures is the only strategic fund focused 100% on creating the world’s largest ecosystem of enterprise cloud companies and extending that technology to Salesforce customers.
“Consultancies and digital agencies play a vital role in our customers’ digital transformations. This follow-on fund dedicated to our consultant ecosystem will drive further customer success around the globe.”
Salesforce Ventures’ vehicles also include the $125m Europe Trailblazer Fund, the $50m Australia Trailblazer Fund, the $100m Canada Trailblazer Fund and the $100m Japan Trailblazer Fund.
