ABB has set up a strategic partnership with Industrial Defender, a power and automation technology group and included the company in its corporate venturing unit implying it has taken an equity stake in the start-up.
Jens Birgersson, head of ABB’s Network Management business unit, said: “As the world’s power systems become more dependent on IT–based control systems for their safety and reliability, new cyber security standards are emerging. Collaboration with an industry leader like Industrial Defender will help ABB to offer our customers purpose-built solutions to protect the integrity of their automation systems.”
