US-based cloud cybersecurity software provider Accurics confirmed today it has raised $20m in seed and series A funding from investors including Intel Capital, a subsidiary of semiconductor and data technology producer Intel.
Intel Capital led the company’s series A round while venture capital firm ClearSky led the seed round, both of which took place in the past six months. Its other investors include Firebolt Ventures, Westwave Capital and Secure Octane according to its website.
Accurics has developed software designed to protect cloud-native infrastructure, and the cash will support product development. It emerged from stealth mode in April this year with $5m, implying the series A round was $15m in size.
Sunil Kurkure, managing director at Intel Capital, said: “As cloud breaches continue to increase in velocity and scale, it is apparent that cloud security techniques must evolve to become programmatic, continuous and comprehensive.
“Accurics provides these advantages by self-healing cloud infrastructure which is essential to cyber resilience and we are excited to participate in supporting the next phase of the company’s growth.”
