Acommerce prepares for series B with $5m

Acommerce, a Thailand-based e-commerce service and logistics provider, raised $5m on Friday from existing investors including conglomerate Sinar Mas, venture capital firm Ardent Capital and VC fund Inspire Ventures.

The funding comes ahead of a series B round in which the company hopes to raise more than $30m.

Founded in 2013, Acommerce provides a range of services for e-commerce companies including channel and cross-border management, marketing, warehousing, localised customer service and last-mile delivery.

Acommerce previously secured $10.7m in a June 2014 series A round led by Inspire that featured Sinar Mas, mobile network operator NTT Docomo, conglomerate Sumitomo, CyberAgent Ventures, a subsidiary of internet company CyberAgent, digital consultancy Asia Pacific Digital, JL Capital and additional, unnamed investors.

NTT Docomo and CyberAgent has already provided $3.1m in seed funding for Acommerce in 2008.

The funding will be used to support the company’s marketing efforts and the development of its technology platform, as well as expanding its warehouse capacity and hiring more staff.

Acommerce, which also operates in Singapore and the Philippines, expects to grow its Indonesia-based team to 300 members.
