Adelphic Mobile, a US-based mobile advertising start-up backed by the eponymous corporate venturing division of search engine company Google, has hired Michael Collins (pictured) to be chief executive.
Collins previously held the same role at WPP’s mobile marketing agency, Joule. Changfeng Wang, Adelphic’s co-founder, will be moving from CEO to chief technology officer with his arrival.
Rich Miner, a partner at Google Ventures and Adelphic board member, said: “Adelphic has an amazing technical and product team with a clear vision for what to build.
“As one of the most respected leaders in mobile advertising, Michael complements the team. His skills and expertise will be invaluable as Adelphic implements the platform for top publishers and advertisers.”
In December, Google Ventures led a $10m Series A round into Adelphic Mobile. Previous investor, venture capital firm Matrix Partners was also involved
This brought the total raised by Adelphic to $12m after Adelphic received $2m in seed funding from Matrix Partners earlier last year.
