Adobe and Salesforce catch Livefyre for series D

Livefyre, the US-based creator of a real-time content marketing and engagement platform, raised $32m on Thursday in a series D round backed by software provider Adobe and cloud computing company Salesforce.com.

Adobe and Salesforce, which invested in the round through its Salesforce Ventures unit, were joined by venture capital firms Cue Ball, Greycroft Partners, Hillsven Capital and U.S. Venture Partners, all four of which were existing backers.

Founded in 2009, Livefyre has developed a content management platform focused on user-generated content, enabling businesses to manage and integrate online content originated externally about their product.

The cash will be spent on research and development, sales and marketing, and international growth. Livefyre has so far opened offices in in San Francisco, New York, London and Sydney.

The round brought Livefyre’s total funding to more than $66m, including $15m in series C2 funding the company disclosed in conjunction with the series D round. Its previous investors also include FF Venture Capital and Zelkova Capital.
