Agrible taps into series B funding

Maumee Ventures, the strategic investment subsidiary of grain logistics firm The Andersons, has led the $9.7m first tranche of US-based farming data platform developer Agrible’s series B round, AgFunder News has reported.

The unit was joined by agricultural processor and ingredients supplier Archer Daniels Midland, along with venture capital fund iSelect Fund and VC firms Flyover Capital and Sierra Ventures.

Agrible offers farmers a dashboard which collates data from third-parties and produces field-level insights on energy use, soil lose, water quality and tractor time. It will use the funding to add new sources for its platform to draw upon while also expanding its sustainability service.

Sierra Ventures previously led Agrible’s $4.1m series A round, which included Archer Daniels Midland and Flyover Capital, and which closed in mid-2015.
