Israel-based industrial drone producer Airobotics has added $10m to a series C round featuring software provider Microsoft that is now sized at $42.5m, Calcalist has reported.
The $10m second tranche was led by equity crowdfunding platform OurCrowd. Microsoft’s corporate venturing subsidiary, Microsoft Ventures, co-led the $32.5m first tranche in September 2017 with OurCrowd, BlueRun Ventures China and an unnamed fourth backer.
CRV, BlueRun Ventures and private investors Noam Bardin, Richard Wooldridge and David Roux also contributed to the September funding.
Airobotics has developed an unmanned aerial vehicle intended to help monitor industrial facilities such as mines, tailing dams or oil refineries. The automated drones fly out and recharge their batteries from a standalone docking station.
The company has now has raised $71m in funding altogether. It received $28.5m in 2016 from series A and B rounds that included BlueRun Ventures, CRV, UpWest Labs, Bardin and Wooldridge.
