US-based mobile healthcare app AirStrip has raised $25m in strategic funding from investors including Qualcomm Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of telecommunications technology producer Qualcomm.
The round was jointly led by Gary and Mary West Health Investment Fund, venture capital firm Sequoia Capital and medical foundation Wellcome Trust, and also included healthcare systems Dignity Health and St. Joseph Health, and investment bank Leerink Partners.
AirStrip integrates clinical data from multiple disparate sources and makes it accessible on mobile devices.
The capital will be used to further develop the company’s AirStrip ONE technology as it aims to expand into the home health space and international markets, and to accelerate its integration with analytics engines.
Qualcomm provided an undisclosed amount of early-stage funding for AirStrip in Febraury 2012 through its Qualcomm Life Fund, which was followed by an undisclosed sum from Wellcome Trust in October that same year.
AirStrip raised $30m from undisclosed investors in a 2010 round, after Sequoia invested $5m in the company in 2008.
