Finland-based mobile data operator Ukkoverkot has secured €9.8m ($10.9m) in funding from investors including telecommunications company Alcom, Talouselama has reported.
The round also included Finnvera Venture Capital, Veritas Venture Partners and Rising Tide Europe, and consisted of bond financing and equity funding.
Ukkoverkot provides wireless data connection for businesses located outside of areas where conventional mobile signals are available, but does not transfer calls or text messages. It will use the funding to enhance its 4G LTE data network as well as its sales and marketing.
