Alexa Fund alerts second accelerator batch

Alexa Fund, the venture capital vehicle for US-based e-commerce, connected device and cloud computing company Amazon, has chosen nine companies for the second batch of its accelerator initiative.

The list includes voice-based shopping startup Blutag, smart water meter developer Conservation Labs, digital laboratory assistant developer HelixAI, commercial building assistant provider Imageous and conversational customer service technology developer Presence AI.

Novalia, which is working on touch-based technology that uses conductive print and microcontrollers, joined online conversational app developer Jargon, children’s coding platform Unruly Studios and speech recognition startup Voiceitt to make up the participants.

Alexa Fund’s Brian Adams said: “Four of the participants from the first Alexa Accelerator, powered by Techstars, have gone on to raise venture-led rounds since the 2017 Demo Day in October last year, making the class’s initial fundraising efforts one of the most successful in the 10-year history of Techstars.

“We are incredibly excited about the possibilities for this year’s participants, all of whom represent a diverse focus of products, services and industries, and see Alexa as key to unlocking their full potential.”
