US-based print software producer Keen Systems, backed by joint partnership fund IDG-Accel, sold its web-to-print business to graphic communications software developer Aleyant yesterday for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition includes the technology platform, brand, logo, promotion campaign and customers. Aleyant will integrate the service into its own offering, Pressero.
Web-to-print technology enables users to create documents online instead of using traditional desktop-based tools.
Keen will retain its other business, PrintMo, an online marketplace to find local printers.
The company closed a $3m series A round in January last year backed by IDG-Accel, a joint partnership fund set up by publishing and research company International Data Group and venture capital firm Accel Partners. 500 Startups also contributed funds to the series A round.
Keen had previously secured $1.7m in seed and angel funding from investors including 500 Startups.
