Alkemics collects series C funding

Alkemics, the France-based developer of a retail data-sharing product, secured €21m ($23.9m) yesterday in a series C round featuring SEB Alliance, the corporate venture capital unit for appliance manufacturer Groupe SEB.

Growth equity fund Highland Europe, venture capital fund Cathay Innovation and VC firms Index Ventures and Serena Capital also participated in the round.

Founded in 2011, Alkemics has built a cloud-based platform where more than 16,000 consumer brands and some 16 major retailers can connect to list, discover, launch or share data on products.

The company has now raised more than $52m altogether, having initially received an undisclosed amount of seed funding from SEB Alliance in 2012. The corporate joined Index Ventures, Partech Ventures and Chausson Finance in a $5.5m seed round three years later.

SEB Alliance, Serena Capital, Index Ventures, Cathay Innovation and Partech Ventures subsequently supplied $22.5m in series B funding for Alkemics the following year.
