US-based electronic components producer Amibq Micro secured $15m in a series C round on Monday featuring semiconductor and software producer ARM Holdings.
Venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round, which also included Austin Ventures and Mercury Fund.
Founded in 2010, Ambiq is a provider of ultra-low power integrated circuits. The capital will accelerate the development and marketing of its SPOT (Subthreshold Power Optimized Technology) platform.
Ambiq raised $10m in a series B round in August 2013 from ARM, Austin Ventures, Mercury Fund and Huron River Ventures.
The compan, which has raised about $35m in total debt and equity, also received $2.4m in seed funding from ARM and networking technology company Cisco after winning a business plan competition in 2010 run by DFJ Mercury, a subsidiary of Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
