Kiip, a US-based mobile rewards network, has raised an undisclosed amount of investment from credit card company American Express.
Previously, Kiip has raised $15.3m, including £11m series B funding in July 2012, $4m series A funding in April 2011, and angel funding of $300,000 in October 2010. Existing strategic investors include broadband and telecommunications company Verizon (series A) and DG Incubation, the investment subsidiary of Japan-based group of internet companies Digital Garage (series B).
Brian Wong, founder of Kiip, said: “We’re excited to celebrate with Amex, as one of the most recent investments under their newly formed venture group. I also wanted to take a moment to highlight Harshul Sanghi, the man at the helm of the group based in Silicon Valley. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Harshul over the past year, and I am extremely supportive of his mission in the venture ecosystem. Amex’s strategic investment model is a unique one that supports entrepreneurs and builds the right connections at the right time between both parties.”
Kiip was founded in 2010.
