Amgen Europe, a regional affiliate of US-headquartered biopharmaceutical firm Amgen, has invested an undisclosed amount in Israel-based digital health incubator eHealth Ventures.
Launched in March this year with financial backing from the Israeli government, eHealth intends to back 40 new digital health technology developers in the next eight years.
The fund’s other limited partners include healthcare providers Cleveland Clinic and HMO Maccabi Healthcare Services, and Medison Pharma, the pharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostic products supplier that acts as Amgen’s Israeli distributor.
Corinne Le Goff, senior vice-president of Amgen Europe, said: “Engaging in multi-stakeholder partnerships will drive innovation and enable us to deliver additional value to patients and the healthcare community, beyond our life-saving medicines.
“This collaboration with eHealth Ventures is a natural fit for Amgen and will help us expand our digital health pipeline and support the growth of valuable health technology to improve the lives of patients across the world.”
