Aircraft and vehicle product maker Marshall Group is set to exit UK-based gas sensor technology provider CMOS Sensors after sensor technology manufacturer AMS agreed yesterday to acquire the company for an undisclosed sum.
Spun off from Cambridge University in 2008, CMOS produces micro hotplates that are used in gas sensors that serve the automotive, industrial, medical and consumer product sectors.
The company claims its technology is cost-efficient, and offers lower power consumption and a smaller environmental footprint and is capable of integrating sensor modalities such as relative humidity, temperature and pressure.
CMOS has raised an undisclosed amount of funding across multiple rounds from Marshall Group’s corporate venturing subsidiary, Martlet, as well as Cambridge Enterprise, Parkwalk Advisors, 24 Haymarket and Cambridge Capital Group.
