AppsFlyer takes off with $20m series B

US-based mobile advertising measurement platform AppsFlyer, a graduate of software producer Microsoft’s accelerator programme in Israel, secured $20m on Tuesday in a series B round led by Fidelity Growth Partners Europe (FGPE).

FGPE, a subsidiary of investment firm Fidelity Worldwide Investments, was joined by Magma Venture Partners and Pitango Venture Capital.

AppsFlyer previously raised $7.1m from a March 2014 series A round backed by Magma, which first invested as part of its 2012 seed round, and Pitango.

The company has received $28m of funding since it was founded in 2011. It joined the Microsoft Accelerator for Windows Azure, located at Microsoft’s Israel-based research and development centre, in 2012.

AppsFlyer has developed a platform which enables app marketers, brands and agencies to track advertising campaigns across more than 800 mobile advertising networks and media sources.

The fresh funding will be used to accelerate development of the company’s existing and new products. It also intends to open new international offices in the US, Israel and China.

Oren Kaniel, CEO of AppsFlyer, said: “We have experienced tremendous growth since our launch in 2011, and we are thrilled with this investment from Fidelity because it will allow us to maintain our platform neutrality and to further develop the mobile advertising software-as-a-service platform the industry is waiting for.”
