US-based network-as-a-service company Aryaka has raised $10m in a series D round featuring Presidio Ventures, the US-based corporate venturing subsidiary of diversified corporation Sumitomo.
Venture capital firms Trinity Ventures, InterWest Partners, Nexus Venture Partners and Mohr Davidow Ventures also participated in the round. All four, like Presidio, are existing backers.
Founded in California in 2008, Aryaka provides a WAN (wide-area networks) optimisation service as well as a networking service for businesses that enables them to collaborate and communicate more effectively.
Presidio also featured in Aryaka’s $25m series C round in July 2012, which was led by InterWest, and Aryaka has now secured $64m across four rounds since 2010. An SEC filing indicates it may also have secured $9.2m in 2009, though it is unclear whether that funding is part of its subsequent $14m series A round in September 2010.
