AssureRX raises $12.5m

Healthcare company Mayo Clinic and hospital Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as well as public-private investment organisation CincyTech have helped AssureRX Health, a company which selects drugs for neuropsychiatric patients, raise $12.5m.

Venture firm Four Rivers Group led the series C round, which also included existing investors Claremont Creek Venture, Sequoia Capital, Allos Ventures, as well as new investors Jven Capital and Alafi Capital.

Last year AssureRx Health raised $11m in its series B round. Corporate venturing units from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Mayo Clinic and CincyTech reinvested in AssureRx in a B round led by venture capital firms Claremont Creek Ventures and Sequoia Capital and joined by peer Allos Ventures.

AssureRx’s personalised medicine platform is based on technology from the Mayo Clinic and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

The first round closed in March 2008 at an undisclosed size from Queen City Angels (lead), CincyTech USA, the Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati, Blue Chip Venture Company, Cincinnati Children’s Tomorrow Fund and individual investors.
