US-headquartered e-commerce marketing software developer Privy has been acquired by message-based marketing technology provider Attentive for an undisclosed sum, marking an exit for marketing software producer HubSpot.
Founded in 2011, Privy provides e-commerce and email marketing software for use by small businesses. It will operate as a standalone division within Attentive following the deal.
The company had raised $4.25m in a 2018 series A round led by venture capital firm Accomplice that brought its total funding to $8m. Accomplice had led a $2.1m round for Privy the previous year that included HubSpot and Kiwi Venture Partners.
Brian Long, chief executive of Attentive, said: “We are really excited to have the Privy team joining Attentive and looking forward to making big investments into the Privy platform.
“Privy does such a good job helping hundreds of thousands of small businesses around the globe. We want to increase that footprint and offer even more great tools to all those businesses. We are thrilled to partner with Privy on this mission.”
