Banca Sella to accelerate fintech startups

SellaLab, the incubator of Italy-based financial services provider Banca Sella, has announced its Fintech Accelerator Program 2016 and is seeking applications from relevant startups, Urban Post has reported.

The program will begin in May and last for six months. It will run at SellaLab for the first five months before concluding at London-based accelerator Level 39.

Participating startups will benefit from a €25,000 ($28,500) grant and €50,000 in services. They will also gain access to certain banking services from Banca Sella and will be able to take advantage of the bank’s technological infrastructure.

SellaLab will additionally offer co-working spaces and support from mentors as well as regulation and compliance experts. To be eligible, startups are expected to have a concrete idea and preferably a business plan and a prototype, though the latter two are not mandatory.

SellaLab will accept applications from any fintech-focused business, including technologies such as e-payments, lending and credit scoring, cryptocurrencies, internet of things, e-commerce and robo-advisors. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2016.
