Italy-based packaged food producer Barilla has leveraged its Blu1877 corporate venturing arm to launch a sustainable food-oriented accelerator in partnership with incubator KitchenTown, according to The Spoon.
The eight-week program, dubbed Good Food Makers, will connect startups to Barilla’s team to identify new food products and improved production techniques in areas of need.
No equity investment is available, with startups instead receiving mentoring, collaboration opportunities and access to industry contacts.
The application window will close on November 11 before successful startups are notified on January 13, 2020.
To qualify, applicants must already have a product in the market, and should be targeting applications relating to either the circular good economy, personalised meal planning and healthy snacks.
All programming on Good Food Makers is available remotely, facilitating participation from differing regions, bar the initial on-boarding week at Barilla’s testing facility in Italy.
