BBC Worldwide, part of the UK’s national broadcaster, yesterday reportedly invested in Spaceport.io, a US-based gaming company which allows developers to design games across various platforms.
Terms were undisclosed, although the investment was said to be in the millions, news provider TechCrunch reported yesterday, in an article linked to by Spaceport’s website.
BBC Worldwide would also use Spaceport.io’s technology to design of games and apps, Techcrunch added.
Spaceport, formerly know as Sibblingz, was also backed by incubator YouWeb, a prior investor, TechCrunch said.
Sibblingz raised $1m last year from YouWeb, and it also raised $500,000 in seed funding in 2008, an earlier TechCrunch article said.
