Venture capital veteran George Bell has joined Jumptap as chief executive of the corporate venturing-backed advertising services provider.
Bell, a managing director of venture capital firm General Catalyst, replaced Daniel Olschwang, who will remain on Jumptap’s board.
Bell was previously chief executive of college savings company Upromise, executive chairman of internet service company Excite@Home and founder of cable channel The Outdoor Life Network.
Jumptap raised $26m in its series D round two years ago, and about $76m in total, from General Catalyst, VC peer Valhalla Partners and Canada’s national telecoms company, BCE Capital , which spun out its corporate venturing unit to form Summerhill Venture Partners in 2007.
