Germany-based media company Bertelsmann has reportedly backed Barkbox, a canine products e-commerce company, as part of a $1.7m round.
Bertelsmann was joined in the A round by venture firms Resolute.vc, Lerer Ventures, RRE, Polaris Ventures and 500 Startups, according to news provider Business Insider. Angel backers were ShoeDazzle’s Brian Lee, Gary Vaynerchuk, Josh Abramson, Nat Turner, Zach Weinberg, Doug Chertok, Aaron Earls, Mike Jung and Aaron Harris, Business Insider added.
The deal followed a $100,000 seed round.
