Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments (BDMI), a corporate venturing unit of Germany-based publishing group Bertelsmann, has participated in a $2m seed round for US-based online video services provider Epoxy.
Alongside BDMI were venture capital firms GRP Partners, which led the seed round, Greycroft Partners and Advancit Capital and angel investors Allen DeBevoise, executive chairman of Machinima, Gordon Paddison, Ynon Kreiz, chairman of Maker Studios, and Yoel Flohr.
Mark Suster, partner at GRP, will now join the company’s board of directors and said: “There has been massive growth in the online video space yet few tools to help film creators to grow audiences, engage their viewers inside and outside of YouTube, measure the success of campaigns and therefore increase monetization. Epoxy was the best product and team I had come across to meet this market need.”
