UK-based law firm McMillan Williams Solicitors has secured a £5m ($7.6m) in financing from Business Growth Fund, the venture fund backed by the UK’s five main banking groups.
The firm, which practices in the area of conveyancing, personal injury and family law, claims to have recorded 70% growth in revenues during the past three years, and expects to turnover £18m ($21m) for the financial year ending in April 2015.
McMillan Williams has 18 locations and services clients throughout London, Kent, Sussex and Devon. The funds will be used to open eight more offices in London and the South East over the next two years.
The firm also plans to move into new practice areas such as commercial conveyancing, mental health, financial claims on divorce and civil litigation, by hiring around 75 new solicitors and legal staff.
