Business Growth Fund, the growth equity fund backed by the UK’s ‘big five’ banks, has invested £6.3m ($9.8) in UK-based satellite communication services provider Broadband Satellite Services (BBS), Business Quarter has reported.
BBS was formed in 2012 and effectively acts as a holding company overseeing a range of subsidiaries that span five continents.
The cash will support BBS’s long term growth strategy. Although its headquarters are situated in Newcastle, the company employs 200 people across offices in Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, Phoenix, Brisbane, Perth, Athens and Moscow.
