Hong Kong-based Bigfoot Ventures, a corporate and family office investment vehicle, has led the series B round for Fashion One, a television channel for fashion and entertainment.
Bigfoot Ventures is a Hong Kong-based capital management company that invests in property and media assets and is part of the Bigfoot Group of Companies set up by internet entrepreneur Michael Gleissner.
Fashion One is a daughter company of Bigfoot Entertainment, which provides television production and film training, set up earlier this year, including by Mick Gleissner, fashion photographer (pictured work from his website attached).
The undisclosed proceeds of the B round will increase the number of in-house productions, such as the reality television series Screen Test.
Eric Klein, chief executive of Fashion One, said: "This [financing] allows us to upgrade our existing broadcast to full high-definition on existing satellites, and also add satellite capacity, especially in markets like Africa and Latin America where carriers currently do not have any way to receive our signal."
Edward Bien, managing director of Bigfoot Ventures’ US equity investment portfolio and previously investment manager for the broadcast and media portfolio in Hong Kong since 2006, has joined Fashion One’s board.
