Black Duck Software, a US-based open-source software company backed by US-based Linux developer Red Hat and the corporate venturing units of Intel and SAP, raised $12m on Thursday.
The funding round was led by Split Rock Partners and was invested in by existing investors. Black Duck said its current investors included Intel Capital, the unit of the US-based chipmaker, SAP Ventures, the unit of the Germany-based software company, Red Hat and venture firms General Catalyst Partners, Volition Capital (formerly Fidelity Ventures), Flagship Ventures and Focus Ventures.
A spokeswoman said the company has raised $46m in venture funding in its history. The company was founded in 2002.
