Blacklane, a Germany-headquartered chauffeur services provider backed by diversified conglomerate Alfahim, human resources firm Recruit and automotive manufacturer Daimler, received €22m ($26m) in funding from unnamed existing shareholders yesterday.
Founded in 2012, Blacklane provides chauffeur services in luxury vehicles for its clientele, and added an on-demand chauffeur hailing service at the start of this month that is now available in 22 cities spanning 11 countries.
Alfahim joined Daimler’s Mobility Services subsidiary and venture capital firm Btov Partners in a series D round for the company in 2018 reportedly sized between $40m and $45m.
Daimler Mobility Services had already led a 2016 series C round for Blacklane in the eight-figure euro range (€1 = $1.20) that also featured Btov Partners, RI Digital Ventures and Alstin.
Recruit supplied a mid-seven digit euro amount for the company in 2014, the year after it received $14m from Daimler subsidiary Moovel, online automotive marketplace Car4you, Alstin, Btov Partners and RI Digital Ventures.
