ThinkUp, a US-based social media data technology developer backed by media company Bloomberg, will be shut down next month, according to a blog post by CEO Anil Dash.
The company provides a service that gives users insights on themselves and their friends using data gleaned from social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Howeverm features introduced by those networks have made ThinkUp’s service untenable, Dash said, and the service will be shut down on July 18 with all current subscriptions refunded.
Without disclosing numbers, ThinkUp revealed in 2013 it had raised funding from Bloomberg Beta, Bloomberg’s early-stage investment subsidiary, as well as Quotidian Ventures, SK Ventures, 500 Startups and angel investors Amol Sarva and Jalak Jobanputra.
