Bloomberg decides ProsperWorks

ProsperWorks, a US-based developer of a customer relationship management (CRM) toolkit built on top of Google Apps, has closed a $7.5m series A round featuring media company Bloomberg’s early-stage venture fund Bloomberg Beta.

The round was led by True Ventures and included Crunchfund as well as unnamed angel investors.

In 2013, Bloomberg Beta, Crunchfund and a range of angel investors also backed ProsperWork’s $2.5m seed round.

ProsperWorks’ toolkit operates entirely within internet company Google’s suite of productivity tools known as Google Apps, eliminating the need to copy data into separate applications and simplifying the organisation of customer data, tracking leaks and prompting for follow-ups.

The company’s software automatically pulls in all relevant data from exisiting Google accounts. ProsperWorks will use the series A funding to advance development of its platform.

Jon Lee, chief executive and co-founder of ProsperWorks, said: “CRM has become a four-letter word, with employees having to constantly feed the system, taking their valuable time away from closing the deals they’re meant to be focused on.

“ProsperWorks was specifically created to enable employees to work smarter and faster by automating mundane tasks, intelligently organizing customer data and prompting sales actions – all within Google’s familiar interface.”
