Point, a US-based home financing platform, has secured $8.4m in a series A round featuring media firm Bloomberg’s corporate venturing vehicle, Bloomberg Beta.
Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz led the round, with participation from Ribbit Capital and angel investors including Vikram S. Pandit, Laurence Tosi, Matt Humphrey and Brad Greiwe.
Point has built a platform that enables homeowners to sell an equity stake in their home to investors, paying the money back in a 10-year period by selling or refinancing their property.
The round took the startup’s overall financing to $15.4m, including debt and an Andreessen Horowitz-led seed round.
